This week I celebrate 5 years of owning Marini Executive Search LLC.

When I started this journey, I knew recruiting. What I didn't fully understand was how much owning a business would teach me about resilience, relationships, perseverance, and knowing my worth.

Over the past five years, I have had the privilege of partnering with incredible clients, connecting with talented candidates, and helping companies find the right people to grow their businesses. Whether it's restaurants, franchise organizations, software, IT, fire safety, retail, wellness, manufacturing, or corporate leadership roles, I genuinely love what I do.

One thing I am especially proud of is the candidate and client experience I strive to provide. Recruiting is about people, and candidates often tell me that I'm easy to talk to because I take the time to get to know them beyond the resume. Finding the right fit means understanding both the skills and the culture.

I've also learned an important lesson along the way: know your worth.

As business owners, we invest countless hours building expertise, delivering results, and standing behind our work. I am proud to offer a guarantee to my clients, and in five years I have only had to backfill a position twice. I know the value I bring, and I have learned that not every client is the right client. Mutual respect and strong partnerships matter.

Looking back, I have overcome many personal and professional challenges that helped shape the grit, determination, and passion I bring to my work every day. Those experiences taught me to work hard, stay true to who I am, and never lose sight of what matters most—treating people with respect.

Owning a small business is not always easy, but it is incredibly rewarding.

I am grateful to every client who trusted me with their search, every candidate who shared their career story, and every person who supported me along the way.

A special thank you to my son, Mitch, who believed in me from the very beginning. When I was considering starting my own business, he told me, "It's never too late to try something new. Look at Colonel Sanders—he started KFC at 62 and became a huge success."

Now, I wasn't quite 62 at the time, but the message stuck with me. It gave me the confidence to take a chance on myself and pursue a dream I had always wanted to try.

Thank you also to Jorge Salvat, whose encouragement and pep talk helped give me the final push to take the leap.

Here's to the next chapter and continuing to be the "Finder of Keepers."
